Saying Goodbye to Seniors

Coach Jackie Boggs strained to hold back the tears as her voiced cracked a bit saying goodbye to her five senior starters at Monday evening's Fall Sports Banquet.  Beneath the many accomplishments, awards and accolades this group of seniors have earned for their hard work and dedication, it is apparent that the relationships forged between players and coach are what truly matters.   Four of the girls, Wendy Ferrigno, Sarah Harp, Becca Hughes and Haley Kirby have played volleyball together since 7th grade.  Chelsea Howard joined the Lady Eagles this season and elevated the level of play at the middle of the net to a new high with her hitting and blocking.  As a whole, this group of seniors have raised the bar this year for volleyball at DCS with their perfect 12-0 MOCAL Championship, 16 game winning streak, and 21-3 overall season record.
