Ben Evans Signs with Malone University Men’s Basketball

At a signing luncheon held on Thursday, November 13, at Delaware Christian, Ben Evans signed his letter of intent to join the men's basketball program at Malone University (NCAA Div. II).

"Ben Evans is a 6'9" forward from Delaware Christian School. Evans is a varsity captain who averaged 12 points, nine rebounds, and six blocks per game in the 2013-2014 season, earning him First Team All-League in the Mid-Ohio Christian Athletic League. He also was awarded Second Team All-District 11, AP Central District and a Team MVP Award. As a sophomore, Evans was presented with Second Team All-District 11 and Second Team All-League MOCAL. Evans is a three year letterman for the Eagles and anticipates studying Business and Sports Management at Malone." - www.malonepioneers.com

Coach Tim Walker has high expectations for Evans' career at Malone. "Ben brings a great skill set for a player of his size," stated Walker. "He has tremendous upside as he continues to grow his game, but his combination of size and skill is very difficult to get at our level. He will fit great into the way we like to play."

"I couldn't be happier, for Ben, in this decision.  I believe Malone University and Coach Walker's program are a perfect for for Ben.  I have no doubt he will be challenged spiritually, academically, and athletically in his time at Malone." said Grey Huston, Delaware Christian Athletic Director.

Evans and Delaware Christian will open their 2014-2015 campaign at The Wellington School, in Upper Arlington, on Saturday, December 6th at 8:00 PM.
