Elementary
Fifth Grade
In the Fifth grade, we focus on a cross-curricular exposure to ancient history from a Biblical worldview; exploring the physical sciences such as Newton's 3rd law of motion and the principles of flight; study of the atomic theory of matter and how it demonstrates intelligent design; writing practice that develops students as descriptive writers; and exposure to literature that helps students develop comprehension strategies.
Our class motto is: Don't quit.
The field trips of the fifth grade are the National Air and Space Museum at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH and the Ohio State University at Marion's prairie.
Students can expect to explore all of the Chronicles of Narnia and take part in a number of projects such as building a castle out of popsicle sticks, designing a popsicle stick airplane that actually flies, constructing a diorama of the Far East, and many other fun and exciting things.
Students will memorize almost 60 verses of Scripture and learn how they apply to life. Students will also discover how Biblical history shaped the world we live in today.
