Third Grade
In the third grade we expand our knowledge in all areas of learning. We especially focus on writing, multiplying, and diagraming sentences. To accomplish our growth in writing, students complete two 5 paragraph research papers. The first research paper (an animal report) is done in class while the second (a history character report) is accomplished by the student's own research and writing abilities. We are mastering our multiplication facts and will learn how to divide simple facts by the end of the year. English lessons get very involved toward the end of third grade - we are learning all forms of speech and will be diagraming sentences with a complete subject and a complete predicate.
Class Verse: Ephesians 4:32 "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you."
Motto: "God is always in control. He has a plan and a purpose for your life."
We love to take field trips! We will go to the Olentangy Indian Caverns, Arts Castle, Kelton House, and Reading Buddy Picnic.
In Bible class, we study several Old Testament characters: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Esau, Joseph, and Daniel. Each of these men portray real life circumstances that each of us can relate to. Our lessons always come back to our class motto: God is always in control. HE has a plan and a purpose for YOUR life.
